Empathy: Rapid Rapport and Resolve Conflict

Customer experience problems don’t start and end with upset customers. Every interaction moves them toward either conflict or rapport. And a lack of empathy doesn't just weigh on customers. Service staff burn out quickly working with customers who regularly feel they need to head off bad customer service by subtly asserting power and coercion.  But giving empathy doesn't have to mean making costly concessions or putting your company at legal risk taking blame for bad situations. Your staff can learn to acknowledge your customers' internal experience, to demonstrate that service staff hear customers and take them seriously without giving up power or falling into the trap of saying customers are always right or know better. 

Wednesday, April 25  Meagan and Larry Johnson - Zap the Gap:  From Boomers to Linksters, Working with Multiple Generations

For the first time in history, there are five generations working side by side: the Traditional Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennial Generation, and the Linkster Generation.

Each generation has been influenced by the major historical events, social trends, and cultural phenomena of their time. In this highly charged, participatory presentation, Meagan and her Baby Boomer father, Larry Johnson will outline the positive signs and opportunities that exist for mortgage lenders to meet the evolving needs of each generation.

Since 1997 Meagan Johnson has entertained and educated thousands of audience members. She has written a variety of articles about the multiple generations and has been interviewed for many publications and audio programs. She has been quoted in The Chicago Tribune, CNNMoney.com, US News & World Report and many other publications.

Larry is the co-author of the highly acclaimed, top-selling book, Absolute Honesty: Building a Corporate Culture That Values Straight Talk and Rewards Integrity. For 30 years, Larry has helped organizations build more productive and profitable working cultures through the development of strong leaders and dedicated employees. .
