VAWA expired in December 2018, and the latest attempt to reauthorize it passed the U.S. House on 3/17/2021. Find out how this legislation, when/if approved by the Senate, could affect your compliance practices. Learn how VAWA violations can result in Fair Housing discrimination and the impact of COVID19. We will review the current requirements and forms, the latest guidance from HUD and RD, and discuss the challenging issues facing managers. We will also look at what your state agency is doing to implement VAWA on their tax credit sites plus review your state laws regarding domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. You will have an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned through mini-quizzes and solving real world scenarios. We will close with an updated list of “Actions Needed” for HUD, RD, and Tax Credit properties .
