2024 AHMA Annual Meeting

The Affordable Housing Management Association of Washington (AHMA)  holds their annual meeting during the convention.  The election of board members takes place in this meeting.

In accordance with the Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Affordable Housing Management Association (AHMA) of Washington and under the applicable sections of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW):

OFFICIAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF: The annual meeting of the membership will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, WA; and

OFFICIAL NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN OF:

Nominations are being sought to fill SEVEN (7) seats on the Board of Directors, the terms for which expire this year.  The newly-elected Directors will join EIGHT (8) other Directors (or their replacements appointed by the Board of Directors) who were elected to two-year terms last year, in 2023.  

Currently, seven (7) incumbent Board members whose terms are expiring are:  

  • Michelle House, Community Roots Housing; Seattle, AHMA Secretary
  • Elsie Janson, Pike Place Market PDA, Seattle
  • Dianne Moreland, Low Income Housing Institute; Seattle
  • Deneen Mulligan, Shelter Resources, Inc.; Everett
  • Dawn Nielsen, Michaels Management Affordable; Seattle
  • Cicely Bradley, Security Properties Residential, Spokane
  • Jason Hainsworth, Hainsworth Laundry, Spokane

    represents the Associate Members and is a non-voting member of the Board

Nominations are also being sought to fill ONE (1) seat on the Board of Directors, the terms for which expire next year. There is one (1) incumbent Board position that have become vacant.

These eight Board members were elected last year, and have one year remaining to serve:

  • Billie Abers, Redwood Housing, Seattle
  • Spencer Anderson, United Marketing; Seattle; AHMA Past President
  • Jennifer Branham, Coast Property Management, Everett
  • Celeste Caldwell, Allied Residential, Renton
  • Michelle Hawley, Bellwether Housing, Seattle;
  • Glori Houston, Catholic Charities Eastern Wa, Spokane AHMA Vice President;
  • Susan Meyers, Pan Pacific Properties, Seattle
  • Kevin Weishaar, Mercy Housing, Seattle AHMA President;

Board seats can only be filled by, and nominations can only come from, Members in Good Standing. Nominations may come from the floor at the Annual Meeting.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to nominate themselves for positions for which they are qualified. Before nominating another member, please make sure you have that person’s consent.

All nominees will be required to provide a brief bio and statement of interest (not to exceed 500 words). We will distribute a document containing all the candidate statements by Monday, April 22, 2024.

DEADLINE

The deadline to nominate someone for the board is Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
