NAHMA HUD Update: Implementation of FY17 Funding Provisions for the HCV program

Attached, please find HUD’s recent notice, PIH 2017-10 (HA), regarding implementation of the Fiscal Year 2017 funding provisions for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

 

Funding is provided through the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017, which HUD allocates to public housing agencies (PHAs) as described in the attached notice. Renewal funding is based on validated Voucher Management System (VMS) leasing and cost data for the prior calendar year (January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016.)

 

In 2017, the amount Congress appropriated to fund the HCV program is broken down as follows:

The attached implementation notice provides information on how HUD calculates HAP renewal funding for each PHA’s HCV program. The notice encourages PHAs to pay particular attention to the set-aside funding provisions listed in Section 5 and Attachment A.
