Sales tax is included in the total price. Before you can create a message of any sort, you need to organize your thoughts – a process that many people find difficult. Diving right in may seem expedient. However, a quick, disorganized, or unmeasured, message often leads to confusion, misunderstanding, and an array of unwanted problems (and emotions). It also leaves a poor impression of you, and your abilities or intentions. You must inform and engage, not frustrate. You must anticipate, not merely react. Your recipient will appreciate receiving a clear, concise, well-organized message that suggests you have thought about the issues, and answers at hand. Plus, it is much easier to respond to such a message. If you do not plan what you will say, and how you will say it, the editing and proofreading needed to make sense of your topic and achieve your goals eats up much more time. Whatever the message, you must:

During her 17 years teaching English she also coached public speaking and took part in the Area Writing Project through UC Davis. Since 1991, when she started her own business, Valerie has gained training and experience in image, marketing, business development, and sales. She has coached individuals and businesses in writing and speaking/presentation skills, proposal writing, sales, marketing and organizing. From 2007 to present she has served as Programs Director for two different associations. Valerie is a very capable writer. She has written and edited a variety of marketing materials, articles, large project proposals, agendas, minutes, website copy, event programs, and other publications, as well as print and online newsletters, e-mail notices, and social media posts for businesses, associations, and individuals. Valerie has experience as a community manager and was the on-site registrar for AHMA-NCH trainings in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area from 2012-2020. This has given her a greater understanding of fair housing and the affordable housing field. Valerie has taught a variety of writing and organizing courses for AHMA-NCH since 2015. |
